Ordering Settings

Ordering Settings controls how your site handles delivery, collection, table ordering, online ordering behaviour, gratuity, and time slots.

Delivery settings

  1. Go to Settings > Ordering Settings and open the Delivery tab.
  2. Tick Enabled if the site should accept delivery orders.
  3. Select the Time Profile that controls delivery availability.
  4. Select the Price Model.
  5. Set a Buffer in minutes to delay the first available ordering slot when needed.
  6. Select the Delivery Product if used on the site.
  7. Tick Cash Enabled and/or Card Enabled as needed.
  8. Use Use Fixed Addresses only if the site should restrict delivery to fixed address options.
  9. Set Min Order Value and Max Order Value. Leave these at 0 if no limit is required.

For busy periods, a delivery buffer of around 30 to 45 minutes is common so the site does not promise orders too quickly.

Collection settings

  1. Open the Collection tab.
  2. Tick Enabled if the site should accept collection orders.
  3. Select the Time Profile and Price Model.
  4. Set the Buffer in minutes.
  5. Tick Cash Enabled and/or Card Enabled.
  6. Set Min Order Value and Max Order Value if required.

Collection often uses a slightly shorter buffer than delivery, but the right timing depends on how quickly your kitchen can prepare orders.

Table settings

  1. Open the Tables tab.
  2. Tick Enabled if the site should accept table ordering.
  3. Select the Time Profile and Price Model.
  4. Set the Buffer if you want to delay table orders becoming available.
  5. Tick the accepted payment methods.
  6. Set any minimum or maximum order values if needed.

Online Ordering tab

  1. Open the Online Ordering tab.
  2. Tick Use Time Slots if you want to limit how many orders can be taken in each time slot, which is especially useful during busy periods. If this is not used, the system can instead be managed by manually accepting or rejecting orders.
  3. Tick Covers Required only when using table ordering.
  4. Tick Email Required if customers must provide an email address when ordering.
  5. Choose the correct Preorder Mode:
    • ASAP Only only allows orders for the next available slot and does not allow advance preorders.
    • Never stops customers placing advance orders while closed.
    • Offered allows preorder as an option.
    • Always keeps preorder available whenever the site supports it.
  6. Set Max Days Ahead if you want to limit how far ahead preorders can be placed.
  7. Choose the Menu Style:
    • Linear for sites with no images.
    • Visual for larger graphical images.
  8. Select the correct online Tender.
  9. Use Google Integration Enabled if you want customers to place orders directly from your Google Business listing.

Google Integration Enabled connects online ordering to your Google Business profile so customers can start an order directly from Google Search or Google Maps instead of going through your normal website first.

Gratuity

The gratuity panel on the Online Ordering tab lets you define preset gratuity percentages for customers to choose from.

  • Add each gratuity value separately, for example 10% or 20%.
  • Use the enabled toggle to control which options appear on the site.
  • Review older entries and remove any that should no longer be available.

Covers Required is only used for table ordering. It is not needed for normal delivery or collection ordering.

Time slots

Time slots limit how many online orders your store can receive during a given time period.

  1. Stay in Ordering Settings and scroll to the time slot section.
  2. Choose the Start Time and End Time.
  3. Enter the Interval Minutes. For example, use 30 for half-hour slots.
  4. Enter the Max Orders allowed in each slot.
  5. Select the days the slots should apply to.
  6. Click Generate Slots.
  7. Review the generated rows, then adjust or delete individual slots if needed.

Even if you do not want time slots to limit orders, it can still be useful to generate them and set the maximum to 0 so the site has a full schedule without a practical limit.

If the store trades past midnight, generate slots across the full 24-hour window. Only slots that fall within the selected time profile will actually be used.

FAQ

What does Buffer mean?

Buffer adds extra preparation time before the first available order slot, helping you avoid promising orders too soon during busy periods.

When should I use Covers Required?

Only use it for table ordering. It is there to capture the number of diners on a table order, not for normal delivery or collection orders.

Which menu style should I choose?

Use Linear for simpler sites with no images, and Visual when you want to show larger graphical menu images.

What does Google Integration Enabled do?

It allows customers to place online orders directly from your Google Business listing, such as from Google Search or Maps, if that integration is set up for the site.
