Service Charge

Use Service Charge from the payment functions menu to apply a qualified service charge manually or remove a manual override.

Add a service charge

  1. Open the table and press Pay.
  2. Open the Functions menu.
  3. Choose Service Charge.
  4. Choose the service charge to apply.
  5. Check the updated total before taking payment.

Remove a manual service charge override

  1. Open the table and press Pay.
  2. Open the Functions menu.
  3. Choose Service Charge.
  4. Choose Use automatic service charge to remove the manual override.
  5. Check the recalculated total before taking payment.

Automatic service charge: Automatic service charges can apply without needing to apply them manually. Manual choices override the automatic rule until the override is removed.

FAQ

Are service charges the same as tips?

No. A service charge is applied to the transaction using configured service charge rules. A tip is an additional amount the customer chooses to leave during payment.
