Over-tender and change

A split payment can make up an amount greater than the sale total. If the cash part is over-tendered, the extra cash is treated as change due.

Example: For a 24.00 sale, the customer could pay 10.00 by card and 20.00 cash. The sale is paid in full and the POS shows 6.00 change due from the cash payment.

Card amount: Use the exact intended card amount for the card part of the split payment.

FAQ

Can cash and card be taken in either order?

Yes. You can take the cash part first or the card part first, as long as the combined payments cover the sale total.

What happens if the customer gives too much cash?

Any cash over the remaining sale value is treated as change due.
