Delivery Areas
Delivery Areas let you draw zones on the map around your branch and attach pricing bands from your delivery product setup to each zone for online ordering.
Planning your areas
When setting up deliveries, it is usually best to work from the middle out. Start with the closest delivery area to your store, then expand into wider areas from there.
Areas can overlap. For example, you can create a county-wide area and then place a city area inside it with a different delivery price.
Create or edit a delivery area
- Go to Ordering > Delivery Areas.
- Click the polygon tool to start drawing a new area, or click an existing polygon to edit it.
- Draw the outline by clicking points on the map until the area shape is complete.
- If you make a mistake, use Delete last Point to remove the last white square added.
- If you want to abandon the shape entirely, click Cancel in the top-right corner of the map.
- When the shape is complete, click Finish.
- Enter the Area Description to name the zone.
- Select the correct Price band from the delivery product setup that already exists for your branch.
- Choose a colour if required to help distinguish overlapping or nearby areas on the map.
- Save the area when finished.
Delivery Areas use the prices already created against the Delivery Product in Ordering Settings. If you need more than one delivery charge, add multiple price values against that delivery product first, then select the right price band for each area.
Delete an existing area
- Find the area in the list under the map.
- Use the delete button on the row to remove the area if it is no longer needed.
- After any change, use Update Tills and then Send Changes.
FAQ
Can delivery areas overlap?
Yes. Overlapping areas can be useful when you want a broad area such as a county, but a smaller area inside it such as a city with a different price.
What should I do if the delivery price I need is missing?
Add the extra price band against the delivery product setup first, then return to Delivery Areas and select that new price for the correct zone.
What is the best way to build delivery areas?
Start with the area closest to the store and expand outward. This makes it easier to manage overlapping zones and separate pricing tiers.
Do I need to send changes after editing delivery areas?
Yes. After adding, editing, or deleting an area, use Update Tills and Send Changes so the updates are applied.
