How To Setup iWantFed

Setting up iWantFed requires payments, time profiles, company and branch details, ordering settings, menus, and delivery areas to be completed in the right order.

TapaPay

Signup for TapaPay must be completed before iWantFed can take orders and payments. Use TapaPay from the navigation in Tapa Office and follow the relevant help article if setup is still outstanding.

Time Profiles

You will need a time profile created for each of the following:

  • Your physical store opening hours
  • Your delivery hours
  • Your collection hours

You can use the same profile for all three if the hours are identical. If your store opens at 12pm but delivery does not start until 4pm, you will need a separate delivery profile.

See the Time Profiles help article if you need to create or edit these before continuing.

Company

All core company fields should be completed before the site goes live.

  • Name
  • About
  • Email
  • Banner URL
  • Country
  • Currency
  • Slug
  • Logo
  • Address

Branch

All core branch fields should also be completed.

  • Name
  • Opening Hours
  • About
  • Phone
  • Email for refunds and enquiries
  • Slug
  • Banner URL, ideally a 1000x500px image
  • FSA Rating ID if available
  • Country
  • Currency
  • Address

Ordering Settings

Go to Ordering > Settings to configure delivery, collection, table, and online ordering behaviour.

Most fields are straightforward, but the most important settings are:

  • Delivery Product: used to charge customers for delivery and match pricing to delivery areas.
  • Price Model: can be used to offer different pricing for online ordering versus in-store pricing.
  • Buffer: the default amount of time needed before an order can be placed for fulfilment.
  • Use Time Slots: when enabled, customers order into configured time intervals. When disabled, orders can instead be accepted from POS or an order terminal and the fulfilment time can be chosen manually.
  • Pre-Order Mode: controls whether customers can place advance orders.
  • Menu Style: Linear suits a text-based top-down menu, while Visual suits a more graphical grid-style menu.
  • Tender: choose which tender records the online payment at the POS terminal.

For a full walkthrough of all delivery, collection, table, online ordering, gratuity, and time slot settings, see the Ordering Settings article in this section.

Menus

Go to Ordering > Menus to create your online menus using existing products and organise them into groups for the site.

Use the online menus article if you need help structuring categories, product groups, or product visibility.

Delivery Areas

Go to Ordering > Delivery Areas to draw delivery areas on the map around your branch.

Delivery areas use the selected delivery product from Ordering Settings, along with that product’s price, to define what customers are charged in each area.

FAQ

Can I use the same time profile for store, delivery, and collection?

Yes, but only if the hours are the same. If delivery or collection starts later or ends earlier, create separate time profiles.

What is the most common reason an iWantFed setup is incomplete?

Usually it is one of the core prerequisites: TapaPay not completed, missing company or branch details, or no delivery and collection time profiles set.

Why is the delivery product important?

The delivery product links your delivery area pricing to the online order, so the correct charge is applied depending on the customer’s location.

Do I need delivery areas if I only offer collection?

No. Delivery areas are only needed when the site offers delivery. Collection-only sites can skip that step.
