Managing Additional Product Information
The Information tab controls how a product is described, presented, and scheduled, including descriptions, media, time restrictions, expiry, and lead times.
Product Descriptions
Short Description
A brief overview of the product, shown online or in search results. Keep this clear and engaging.
Example: Chicken stir-fried with pineapple chunks in a light, savoury sauce.
Additional Information
A longer, formatted description for menus or labels. Include preparation details, special notes, or selling points.
Product Media
Add product images to improve appeal on online menus and labels.
How to add media to a product
- In the Product Media section, click Add.
- Upload a new image.
- Tick Primary if this image should appear by default.
Media guidelines
- Recommended image size: 500px x 500px.
- Use clear, high-quality images.
- Make sure the media reflects the product accurately.
Example: use a real photo of the plated dish or drink.
Time Profile
A Time Profile controls when a product can be sold or shown.
How to apply a Time Profile
- In the Time Profile dropdown, select the required restriction.
- Save your changes.
Example: use a breakfast-only time profile for products sold only from 7am to 11am.
Time Profiles affect product visibility both in-store and online.
Expiry and Shelf Life
Set shelf life values to calculate best-before dates.
How to set expiry information
- Enter the number of days into the Expiry field.
- Save the changes.
Example: entering 5 sets the product to expire five days after packaging.
Best-before dates print on labels only if that feature is enabled.
Lead Time
Lead time ensures the kitchen or prep area has enough time to complete an online order.
How to configure lead time
- In the Lead Time field, enter the prep time in hours.
- Save the changes.
Example: a 2-hour lead time means the product cannot be ordered for immediate collection.
Customers will only be able to choose time slots that match the lead time.
Best practices for product info
- Keep formatting and tone consistent.
- Highlight key ingredients, special notes, or selling points.
- Review expiry settings and lead times during seasonal menu changes.
FAQ
Can I show different media for different branches?
No. Media is shared across branches, so it is best to use neutral imagery where possible.
Where is the expiry used?
It is used when generating product labels. The system calculates and prints the best-before date from the expiry value.
Can I add multiple photos to a product?
Yes. You can upload several images, but only one can be marked as Primary.
