Online Menus

This is where you create and control the online menus used on iWantFed.

Create a menu category

A menu category creates the top-level headers on your online site and groups your menus together.

Examples of menu categories include Food, Drink, Specials, Offers, or Popular Choices.

  1. Go to Ordering > Menus.
  2. Click + New Category.
  3. Enter the Description for the category name.
  4. Enter the Description Detail if required.
  5. Click Save.

Add a new menu to a category

  1. Click + New Menu.
  2. Select the correct Category from the dropdown.
  3. Enter the Description.
  4. Add the Description Detail if needed.
  5. Click Next.

Edit tab

On the Edit tab you control the main setup for the menu itself.

  1. Enter the Description for the menu name, for example PIZZAS.
  2. Select the correct Menu Category so the menu appears under the right top-level heading.
  3. Add a Description Detail if you want supporting text under the menu title.
  4. Use the Hidden tick box if you want to keep the menu built but not currently shown online.
  5. If required, assign a Time Profile so the menu only appears at certain times of day.

Items tab

  1. Open the Items tab.
  2. Click Add Items and choose the products you want to include on the menu.
  3. Review the item list to make sure the correct products have been added.
  4. Use the arrow buttons in the order column to move products up or down into the right display order.
  5. Use the red delete button if an item should be removed from the menu.

Edit menu item prices

The price setup on the right-hand side lets you decide which online prices are available for each item.

  1. For the relevant product, click into the prices area or use the action button to open the Add Prices pop-up.
  2. Select the price rows you want to attach to that product, then click Add.
  3. You can attach more than one price where needed, for example SML, MED, and LRG.
  4. The Prices Description column will show which units or size options are attached to that item.
  5. If a price is no longer needed, remove it using the red delete button in the price list.

Use multiple prices when one product needs online size or unit choices. A pizza menu item can have separate SML, MED, and LRG prices without creating three separate products.

Conditions tab

The Conditions tab lets you control when a menu is shown based on ordering context.

  1. Open the Conditions tab and click Add Condition.
  2. Select the condition type. Available options include Table Area, Time Profile, and Order Type.
  3. Select the condition expression and then choose the value you want to use.
  4. For Order Type, typical values are Table, Delivery, or Collection.
  5. Leave the condition Enabled if it should apply now.
  6. Use Or when you need to allow more than one value within the same condition setup.

Conditions are useful when a menu should only appear for certain services, for certain times, or for a specific table area.

Save and publish

  1. When you have finished adding menus and products, click Save at the top of the screen.
  2. Use Update Tills and Send Changes.

FAQ

What is the difference between a category and a menu?

A category is the top-level header on the site, such as Food or Drink. A menu sits inside that category and holds the actual products.

Can I show a menu only at certain times?

Yes. Assign a time profile to the menu so it only appears during the selected trading periods.

Can I use different prices online?

Yes. You can attach one or more online prices to each menu item, which is useful for different sizes or units such as small, medium, and large.

What does Hidden do on the menu?

Hidden keeps the menu in your setup but stops it from being shown on the live iWantFed site until you are ready to use it again.

When should I use menu conditions?

Use conditions when a menu should only be available for delivery, collection, table ordering, certain time profiles, or specific table areas.

Do I need to send changes after editing menus?

Yes. Save the menu changes, then use Update Tills and Send Changes so they are applied.
