POS Advanced Settings

Use Advanced settings for performance trials, staged feature rollouts, POS counters, and reset tools. These settings should be changed carefully because they can affect the behaviour of the live terminal.

Performance trials

• Strip heavy program model data removes large media and extra data from the program model.
• Summary-only sales panel replaces the live transaction grid on the sales screen with a lightweight item count and total summary.
• Defer grid updates while selling keeps the full transaction grid visible but updates it after a short idle pause while the summary stays live.
• Performance mode disables animation, blur, and other expensive visual effects on slower devices.

Feature flags

• Show reservations area, Show orders area, Show customers area, and Show vouchers area control whether those areas are visible on the Functions menu and whether they can be added to the dock on this terminal.
• Show shelf labels area enables the scan, search, and batch-print tool for retail shelf edge labels.
• Auto-open seated reservations opens a POS table when a booking is seated from TapaTable. Leave it off to keep table operations authoritative on the POS.
• Allow edits allows permitted POS users to make lightweight product, lookup, and user changes from this terminal.

Sales counters

Transaction No and Report No control local POS numbering counters. After changing either value, choose Save Counters.

Reset local POS data

Reset Device removes this POS pairing from Tapa Cloud, then wipes local transactions, shared terminal state, cached program data, queued uploads, and current POS settings on this device.
