POS Hardware Settings

Use Hardware settings to configure devices attached to the POS, including the cash drawer, customer display, and receipt printer.

Cash drawer

  • Mode controls whether the cash drawer is enabled and how it is triggered.
    • Disabled turns cash drawer triggering off.
    • Via Printer opens the cash drawer through the connected receipt printer.
    • Nonyox Hardware uses the configured Nonyox hardware connection.
    • USB Serial uses a USB serial cash drawer connection.
    • Serial Port uses a serial port cash drawer connection.

Use Refresh to reload available hardware options, then choose Save after changing the mode.

Customer display

  • Enabled turns the customer display feature on or off for this terminal.
  • Connection sets whether the POS uses an attached second screen or allows a paired device to connect over the local network.
    • Local secondary display uses an attached second screen connected to the POS.
    • Direct LAN device allows a paired customer display device to connect directly over the local network.

Printing

  • Enabled turns local receipt printing on or off.
  • Connection Type selects the printer connection method.
    • TapaPay Terminal prints through the linked TapaPay terminal where supported.
    • Bluetooth uses a paired Bluetooth receipt printer.
    • USB uses a locally connected USB printer.
    • Serial uses a serial printer connection.
    • Network uses a network receipt printer.
  • Bluetooth Device selects the paired printer device.
  • Receipt Width sets the number of characters used across the receipt, such as 48 chars.
  • GBP Compatibility Fix can be enabled where a printer has trouble printing the pound sign correctly.

Test and save

  1. Select or update the required hardware settings.
  2. Use Test Print to check the printer output.
  3. Choose Save to keep the configuration.
