POS Payment Settings

Use Payment settings to control tender entry, integrated card terminal connection details, gratuity prompts, and TapaPay terminal identifiers for this POS.

Payment settings explained

• Require tender entry requires the operator to enter the tendered amount before completing payment. This overrides the tender-level setting for all tenders on this POS.
• Payment terminal stores the payment terminal connection details for integrated card payments.
  • For a local terminal, enter the terminal IP address of the PED on the local network, for example 192.168.1.100.
  • For cloud relay, enter the S1F2-serial number, for example S1F2-000158250221711.
• Ask gratuity prompts the guest for a tip when paying.
• Terminal Id is the stored TapaPay terminal identifier linked to this POS.

When to change these settings

• Change the payment terminal value when replacing, moving, or re-pairing an integrated card device.
• Enable gratuity prompts only where the payment workflow and business policy require tips to be captured at payment.
• Enable tender entry where cashiers must record the amount tendered before payment is accepted.
