This guide covers the minimum system requirements, recommended specifications, operating system setup, and network requirements for running Tapa POS reliably.
Minimum system requirements
- Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB x64, version 1607 or later.
- Native Windows touch support.
- 4GB RAM or more.
- SSD with at least 2GB available space.
- Internet connection.
- Intel Celeron J1900 processor at 1.99GHz or faster.
Recommended system requirements
- 1024 x 768 display.
- Intel Core i3-6100U at 2GHz or greater.
- Intel HD Graphics 520.
- Microsoft DirectX 12.0 support.
- OpenGL 4 support.
Systems with suitable graphics rendering capability, such as 512MB GPU RAM and DirectX 12 or later, allow Tapa to perform faster.
Recommended system configuration remarks
- Use a cleaned-down operating system with minimal background applications.
- Disable Windows Defender Real Time Monitoring or put a suitable exclusion in place for Tapa.
- Set Windows power settings to High Performance.
- Disable Selective Suspend on USB hubs, network adapters, and the hard drive.
- Keep the firewall enabled, with exclusions in place for ports 8600, 8601, and 9000 on TCP and UDP.
Recommended network configuration
- Keep the EPOS network isolated from other LAN traffic using a VLAN or physical segregation.
- Allow broadcast traffic for EPOS discovery.
- Provide access to the WAN.
- Allow connections to *.tapapos.com on ports 80 and 443.
